Chtoura Fields Dried Mallow 200g / Molokhia
Molokhia are the leaves of Corchorus olitorius commonly known as Arabian mallow. It is used as a vegetable. It is popular in the countries of the Middle East, East Africa and North Africa. Mulukhiyyah is quite bitter and, when cooked, the resulting liquid is a thick, highly mucilageous broth; it is often described as "sticky", like a cooked okra.
Mulukhiyyah is usually eaten cooked, not raw, and is most often made into a type of soup or stew, usually with the same name as the vegetable in the local language. Traditionally mulukhiyyah is cooked with chicken or at least chicken stock for flavor and is served with white rice, accompanied by lemon or lime.
